OUR TECHNOLOGY
Envirotech Instruments Pvt. Ltd. (EIPL) was started with the prime objective of pioneering the development of appropriate indigenous technology and instrumentation for monitoring the air pollution and air quality.
Pioneers in the field of Air Quality Monitoring, EIPL markets more than 30 instruments and specialized support parts for the following:
- Monitoring emissions from stationary sources
- Measuring community air quality
- Monitoring the environment in the workplace
- Monitoring meteorological conditions, such as local wind characteristics, atmospheric stability
Due to reliability, sturdy designs and ease in operations and maintenance, our instruments have been adopted by reputed organisations like Central and State Pollution Control Boards, Academic Research institutions and many industrial units through the length and breadth of the country.
Tailor-made technology for Indian needs
The modern Instrumentation field has been invaded by processor chips and automation, yet often the equipment has degenerated into Hi-tech black boxes incompatible to the harsh operating environment in developing countries.Besides being expensive, automated instruments are based upon secondary properties which require calibration and support facilities often not available in the local markets. Envirotech Instruments Pvt. Ltd. has therefore, consciously based most of its instruments on primary / standard methods by USEPA and WHO. Wherever necessary, features have been added to make the systems suitable for hot and humid weather, erratic power supply and severe operating conditions.
The focus has always been on development of Air Monitoring Instruments suited to Indian needs. Also, the EIPL instruments are user friendly, have been designed to suit the Indian man-skills and are versatile in nature, reducing the number of equipment required for monitoring purposes.
Practical experience gained through monitoring assignments and EIA studies
Since 1985, EIPL has monitored hundreds of industries and carried out extensive Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for over 50 existing/proposed industries including gas-based fertilizer plants, several cement plants, pulp and paper units and petroleum refineries to gain hands-on experience in the field of air quality monitoring. This has helped us to understand the field challenges to a large extent and develop improved and more convenient instruments as per the customers needs.
Leadership through continued R&D
To maintain its leadership in the field of air monitoring, EIPL has continuously upgraded its instruments and endeavored to introduce better technology.
To support the in house R&D effort, the company has developed close association with a number of leading experts in important national institutes and laboratories like the IITs, Roorkee University, NEERI, CSIR and NPL. Instruments are independently tested by Government testing agencies. They meet or exceed the primary standard methods of the Central Pollution Control Board and the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India.
Envirotech's in-house R&D centre had won recognition from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. Besides strengthening the development effort, EIPL has also sought institutional support in calibrating its equipment.
Strong emphasis on reliable calibration
Besides strengthening the development effort, Envirotech has sought institutional support in calibrating its equipment. Flow metering devices used in Envirotech's products are periodically calibrated at IIT Delhi in test rigs developed for the purpose. The Wind Monitor has been wind tunnel tested at IIT Delhi. Sophisticated techniques like scanning electron microscope and laser particle counters have been used to evaluate our PM 10 Sampler's particle size cut-off.
Envirotech Instruments also has a fully functional - In house calibration laboratory - Envirotech Calibration Laboratory (ECL), which is accredited by NABL.
